Support NBA

With the support of community, we know that wholeness, wellness, and the bold vision for a liberated world is indeed possible.

Your generosity allows us to continue our mission of creating communities of compassion and care, rooted in the love of Christ.

With NBA’s mission to advocate for the well-being of humanity, we are committed to nurturing spaces and places for community to emerge. Now more than ever, your continued support fuels Disciples ministries and organizations and liberates communities by empowering leaders and supporting innovative organizations.

In a world that often feels divided, your giving enables us to be a beacon of hope and unity.  In the spirit of a loving God, who calls us to foster connections, nurture community, and help construct healthy systems for people and ministries, thank you for joining us in this work!

Ways to Give

Give Stocks and Bonds

Our vision at National Benevolent Association is to create communities of compassion and care. We understand that this takes investment, commitment, and nurturing long-term relationships with all individuals and community organizations with whom we work. Your support as a donor is an effective way of strengthening this vision of being a health and social service community of care. Making this gift is simple and offers you valuable financial benefits:

  • You can donate appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds
  • The total value of the stock upon transfer is tax-deductible
  • There is no obligation to pay any capital gains taxes on the appreciation

Once you are ready to make your donation, please contact giving@nbacares.org. Thank you!

Planned Giving and Legacy Gifts

The NBA works in partnership with the Christian Church Foundation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) to help you plan for making legacy contributions in support of NBA with such giving tools as charitable gift annuities, bequests, life income gifts, IRA charitable rollover gifts, donor-advised funds, and more. Please contact giving@nbacares.org to let us know of your interest in planned giving. The NBA’s TIN (taxpayer identification number) is 43-0653377N.

Host a Facebook Fundraiser

For our followers on Facebook, you may want to help support NBA by hosting a virtual fundraiser. We are glad (and most grateful) for your interest to help share the story and mission of NBA in this way. Please feel free to inform us of your intent to host something. Email us at giving@nbacares.org.

Workplace Giving

Some companies offer employees the opportunity to make a charitable contribution directly to NBA through your payroll deduction or other employer-sponsored programs. Please let us know if you are interested in starting your giving in this way. Contact us at giving@nbacares.org.

Critical Care for Caregivers

We continue to support clergy and leaders of health and social services through NBA Peer Learning & Wellness Groups that include Disciples of Christ chaplains, mental health and wellness professionals, prison and jail ministry clergy and advocates, Hispanic/Latin@ clergy leaders, and activists/advocates working on justice issues. We have enhanced our support through $500 wellness grants, regularly scheduled small group check-ins, as well as opportunities for retreat and continuing education. Our hope is to provide a constellation of support for those leaders who make it a priority to care for others each and every day.

Help us provide critical support to communities in need

In these days of a global health pandemic, we remain committed to a vision of creating communities of compassion and care. Your gift today supports our work of providing grants to communities in need, resources for mental health and wellness, tools for advocacy, and critical care for caregivers. Thank you!

In 2020, the NBA granted more than $1 million to support 117 Disciples-related ministries working locally in response to the crisis—food supplies for distribution centers, support for meals for those living through job loss, community counseling services, to name only a few of the grant recipients.
