We will have adult day classes and after-school tutoring for children. The elderly will teach quilting/mathematics. We will assist students with homework and help them develop a love for reading. This will provide a safe afterschool environment along with a balanced meal. Community in Action: Each One Teach One is for grades K-12/senior adults. We will use certified teachers for the afternoon tutorial program. We will provide workshops/ training sessions for laypeople to assist in working with the children. Educational field trips will be provided for the students on weekends. We will use computer programs to help students move at their own pace. The adults will utilize the center during the day while quilting, etc. – this will help keep them active and feel worthwhile in the community. We will provide a hot meal for the students and adults. This will help ensure that both children and adults are provided a balanced meal. We will integrate many intergenerational activities as possible.
