Fall 2024 Mission & Ministry Grants Awarded
The National Benevolent Association is pleased to announce its Fall 2024 Mission & Ministry Grant recipients. In this cycle, NBA’s Mission & Ministry Grants program provided a total of $173,300 to 28 Disciples projects and ministries working with older adults, children, and youth.
“At NBA we collaborate with leaders and health and social service ministries to strengthen and transform communities through compassion, healing, and justice,” said Kara Whitehouse, NBA’s Operations and Grants Management Coordinator. “There is incredible work being done throughout the Disciples denomination, and through our Mission and Ministry Grants NBA is committed to financially supporting this work with youth, young adults, and older adults.”
16 Disciples regions are represented in this cycle of grantees, which includes 3 programs working with youth and young adults; 17 older adult programs; and 8 intergenerational programs. Collectively in 2024, NBA awarded $364,300 in grants to 55 ministries across 21 Disciples regions.
Launched in 2017, the Mission & Ministry Grants program has made purpose-restricted funds available for Disciples’ congregations and health and social service ministries for more than half a decade. This is the third year of our new twice-a-year cycle, which allows the NBA to award up to $400,000 a year to ministries. Now in its seventh granting year, the Mission & Ministry Grants have granted more than $1.5 million to ministries that support disenfranchised youth and older adults.
