Heroes Work Here at Project IMPACT

All over the country, “Heroes Work Here” signs are popping up to honor essential workers in the face of the COVID-19 crisis. We at Project IMPACT are no different in honoring our staff as heroes providing essential services to families in crisis.

For 34 years Project IMPACT has provided essential support to the community, serving the most underserved among us while adapting our outreach to maintain our quality of service. As part of our mission, we provide five core services to our community: tutoring, counseling, job training and placement, parent education, and mentoring. As a result of the generous support provided by the National Benevolent Association’s COVID-19 NBA Response Grant, in the face of the pandemic, we were able to provide the following services:

• Our location remains open to the community for intakes and assessments. By maintaining essential intake staff on location, we will continue to enroll participants into our programs and to implement on-site safety measures.
• Project IMPACT has begun to utilize a tele-health platform to provide essential services for our clients. This includes counseling, case management, parent education, program navigation and family preservation services to those affected by violence, neglect and abuse.
• We support our community by supporting our staff. This includes modified duties and the settings of our staff in this new environment. The overall goal is to allow staff to continue providing our quality of service, while minimizing potential exposure so our staff and clients stay safe. We are making every effort to provide safety gear for our staff and clients including gloves, masks, disinfectants and cleaning supplies.

No doubt we are living in desperate times. Please pray for the safety and well-being of our staff and those we serve and, for the opportunity to share the healing love of Christ.
From our doorstep to a waiting world, we at Project IMPACT view ourselves as “the church working in the world” and will adapt as necessary in our mission of service. We join the chorus of thousands of courageous servants throughout our country and our church, in the face of the COVID-19 crisis, heroes work here!
