Why do you feel “called to care” about Disciples health and social service ministry?

I am a Disciples member, and our identity statement says, “we are a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.” I felt called to work at NBA because I could be part of a team that educates, advocates, equips, and works with others to create communities of compassion and care, and bring about more wholeness to the world around us.

Who is a hero of yours, and why?

There are a number of people in my life and throughout history who inspire me to do more and help others. At the top of that list are my parents. They are two of the kindest, most selfless, and giving people you will ever meet. When I was growing up, they worked extremely hard to provide me with opportunities to succeed and experiences to remember. They have been my biggest supporters and encouraged me to continue pushing myself to become better.

If I tried to find you in a supermarket, what aisle would you be in?

When it comes to grocery shopping, I am a browser so you could find me in any aisle of the store at a given time looking for “good deals” or “things I just can’t live without.” But it is likely that you would find me hovering a little longer around the snack aisle, particularly the section where Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Oreos reside.
