Mr. Emmanuel Freeman
Why did you say “yes” to the NBA Board of Trustees?
I said yes because I’ve interacted/experienced some of the quality people/offerings that NBA has offered in the past and I feel like the brand is congruent with an organization I would want to represent and that I would want representing me. NBA seems to listen and hear the needs of communities that are hurting and explores possible solutions in a way that is not bound by ritual or tradition. I also believe that my knowledge/skills/abilities can add value to the future growth and reach of NBA while directing its resources to communities where transformation can happen.
The NBA’s vision statement is “creating communities of compassion and care.” What does that mean to you?
To me it means creating spaces where true human connection can truly thrive. Where there are few if any barriers to our ability to understand each other and work for a greater good. To have true compassion and care, a community must develop insight and wisdom as well as have the ability to empower.
