In July, I got to participate at the 2017 General Assembly for my first time ever. The week was filled with workshops, worship, business sessions, and the chance to learn about different ministries.
One thing I have really struggled with in my second year of the NBA XPLOR program is coming to the realization that it’s okay if I make mistakes at my work site.
My time in NBA XPLOR has taught me to be courageous and stand up for what I feel is right.
As I am in the second half of my second year in the XPLOR program, I have learned that if I don’t take care of myself, how will I help others? If my spiritual, mental, and physical needs aren’t meant, how can I help others’ needs?
I had the opportunity to participate in the Forum for Theological Exploration Regional Discernment Retreat for Volunteers Exploring Vocation, consisting of workshops, reflections, worship services, and service work opportunities.
Getting out of my comfort zone and being confident in myself has never come easy; it’s something I have had to consistently work on. I didn’t realize the importance of getting out of my comfort zone until I started NBA XPLOR.
