Central Christian Church Disciples of Christ

The project has three components. First, it serves one weekly meal to the 25 residents of Muir Manor, a low-income apartment complex with a 501(c)(3) status. Muir Manor specifically houses adults 62 years of age or older. In addition to the residents of Muir Manor, this project will serve one weekly meal to a population of elderly homebound members from the Central Christian Church.

Secondly, the Food for the Soul program provides additional food for the 25 residents of Muir Manor during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. During these weeks, the residents will receive larger food packages, including food for a complete holiday meal.

Lastly, this project will establish a garden on the Central Christian Church grounds. The produce planted and harvested will be utilized for the weekly meals and be given directly to the residents of Muir Manor, which will ensure that the residents have increased access to fresh vegetables.
