Disciples Crossing

Disciples Crossing is seeking to create a fully functioning sensory room for our Atypical campers. A sensory room is one of the main building blocks in Spectrum ministry; it allows a space for Atypical campers to seek solace and regroup when overstimulated in whatever form that takes for them.

In 2017 Disciples Crossing hosted its first Spectrum Weekend.  Spectrum Weekend is a retreat that offers Atypical campers a chance to experience camp, and all the joys that come with it, in a comfort zone they are familiar with, while at the same time providing their parents and neurotypical siblings with the same thing. Disciples Crossing becomes a place where Atypical campers and their families discover the promise that Isaiah proclaims. “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”  -Isaiah 40:31
