Many youths today aren’t equipped to interact with one another, especially those they disagree with. The examples that we see every day of successful people and, most especially, the ways to solve problems and how to treat people can be unsatisfactory, or more commonly counterproductive to what we want young people to model. Name-calling, character assassination, and violence are portrayed as “normal ways of dealing with problems.” We want to challenge young people to know that they are cared for, realize that there may be many possible solutions to any given situation, and think outside of the box in their interactions.
