Hiram Farm is an agricultural setting that serves developmentally disabled adults, with an emphasis on adults on the autism spectrum. The Farm provides opportunities for these adults to grow, learn, and work in a setting focused on respect and support for individuals and the environment.

Here, our farmers can develop both professional and social skills and accomplish meaningful work. We pride ourselves on recognizing the unique qualities and needs of each farmer, addressing these needs appropriately. Dignity, respect, and kindness are the trademarks of our staff and farmer relationships.

In 2007, six families were searching for a meaningful work program for their adult children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). They discovered the agricultural community model and worked diligently for years procuring land, funding, and staff to open Hiram Farm. The Farm began serving six adults in 2009. Since its inception, the Farm has added a barn, two greenhouses, bathrooms, and other structures on the property. In addition, an adjacent farm house was purchased to offer program services and create space for administrative offices.

Today, the Farm has grown to provide meaningful work for 24 farmers. We pride ourselves on being a green and organic farm, using recycled wood and repurposed goods for our craftworks and raising vegetables and livestock without the use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides. We have expanded our mission to include all developmentally disabled individuals who would benefit from our therapeutic services.
