New Asian/Pacific Islander Young Adult Peer Learning & Wellness Group Launch

The A/PI Initiative is about discovering the health and social service needs most critical and important within A/PI communities. Through NBA’s community engagement programs, mental health and wellness programs, and leadership development programs, we are prepared to accompany churches and faith communities in the collective and communal work to identify and more clearly name health and social service issues and concerns of the A/PI community.

Because of the diverse differences of cultures, languages, structures, and networks, being able to discover and clearly proclaim some of the most urgent needs within A/PI communities has been challenging. NBA’s funding and support connected with this A/PI Initiative seeks to connect, engage, and actively work to raise awareness of this communities’ needs and begin to identify ways of addressing these concerns. One of the first areas that the A/PI Initiative is offering accompaniment is the launch of the Peer Learning and Wellness group for A/PI young adults.Together, the members of this group will create a community of support and development by focusing on identity, culture, leadership development, wellness, and transformation of their communities.
