Through guided meditation, we explored techniques to find calm amidst the changes and uncertainties that the new year may bring. The webinar also focused on cultivating a sense of renewed hope through discussion and reflection, empowering you to embrace new beginnings with confidence and peace.

Joselyn Spence

Joselyn Spence

Joselyn Spence is the Director of NBA’s Mental Health and Wellness Program. As LPC and ATR, she provides trauma-informed services to people of all races, backgrounds and ages. She has a MDiv from the Candler School of Theology at Emory, a MS in Art Therapy and Professional Counseling from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and a BS in Women and Gender Studies and African-American Studies.

Cameron Cunningham

Cameron Cunningham, NBA Mental Health and Wellness Program Coordinator, is a dedicated clergy, religious educator, and social advocate with a strong commitment to building faith communities and advancing holistic and social equity. Cameron’s work is driven by the belief that faith can serve as a catalyst for creating and nurturing strong unified communities. He brings exceptional dedication and meticulous preparation working at the intersection of faith and mental health as he has collaborated with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), to further enhance his expertise in addressing mental health and substance use disorders within faith communities.

Pastor Al Beasley

Pastor Al Beasley has been a Disciple of Christ Minister since 2012, and has been involved in Prison Ministry for the past five years. He is currently a member of NBA’s Prison and Jail Ministries Peer Learning and Wellness Group. Pastor Beasley, along with three other Religious Volunteers, visit Eyman Prison in Florence, AZ, every Monday night, sharing the program of Prison Contemplative Fellowship. This program incorporates the elements of Centering Prayer with personal moments of reflection and discussion.

Rev. Angel Luis Rivera-Agosto

Rev. Angel Luis Rivera Agosto is an Ordained Minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Puerto Rico, with ministerial standing in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the U.S. and Canada. At NBA, he serves as the Community Engagement Senior Coordinator for Justice Initiatives where he creates and nurtures engagement strategies for the organization and its partners to transform the root causes of social injustice.
