Webinar: The Rising Number of Incarcerated Women
A November 2018 report by the Prison Policy Initiative estimated that approximately 219,000 are currently incarcerated in the United States. This number is at an historic high for the country and at NBA, we want to talk about how to change it. During this webinar, we’ll work to answer a few questions: Why are there so many women now being incarcerated in the United States? What are the effects upon their communities and their families. How can this trend be stopped?
Join us as we discuss the impact of the increasing number of women, particularly women of color, that are spending time behind bars and work to address solutions.
