NBA Board of Trustees November Meeting Emphasizes Dedication to Financial Stewardship and Equity

In November, the National Benevolent Association’s Board of Trustees convened to review and approve the 2025 budget, marking a significant step in our ongoing mission to serve the community. The approved budget reflects our commitment to financial stewardship and strategic growth, ensuring that our resources are allocated effectively to support our programs and initiatives in the coming year.

Rev. Thomas Harshman, Treasurer

“The 2025 budget process was a collaborative and thorough effort, reflecting our commitment to values-centered strategic planning,” said Rev. Tom Harshman, Treasurer of the Board. “We are confident that the approved budget will enable us to effectively support our programs and initiatives, ensuring we continue to make a positive impact in the present. Our focus on financial stewardship and equity will guide us as we move forward into the future.”

A key focus of the meeting was our organization’s dedication to equity. The board engaged in a thoughtful discussion on how to further integrate equity into every aspect of NBA. The board’s insights and recommendations will guide our efforts to enhance equity and continue to create communities of compassion and care for historically marginalized populations.

Program updates were another highlight of the meeting – showcasing the tangible difference our work is making. In addition, a report on the state of funding and leadership of nonprofits in the United States was given. This report provided valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities facing the sector. The board’s proactive approach to understanding these trends will be crucial as we plan for the future and strive to help our partners strengthen their leadership and funding strategies
