Progressive Poems
Each house in NBA XPLOR chooses to spend Sabbath time with their spiritual companion differently. Some discuss a book that they’ve been reading together, others watch a thought provoking movie, while still others find artwork as an outlet for spiritual discernment. After the NBA + OGMP tour, the Hiram-Mantua XPLOR Residentswrote progressive poems, so called because they were a collaborative effort among the Residents and their spiritual companion, ‘progressing’ from one participant to the next. They were all provided with a prompt, each wrote a line under the prompt, and then passed the poems to the left. Read the poems below for Mary, Ian, Melissa, and Linda’s reflections on the trip, their faith/journeys, and the political and liturgical moments.
